BIRCHBRAE HIGHLAND LODGES, Onich

Birchbrae Highland Lodges has seven self-catering lodges near Fort William and Glencoe in the Highlands of Scotland. Each lodge includes three bedrooms: a master bedroom with a king-size bed and two twin bedrooms. The main bathroom features a walk-in shower, while the second bathroom has a quadrant shower. One lodge offers ramp access and a wheel-in shower. Lodges have wooden flooring in public areas, the master bedroom, and the rear bedroom. Each lodge has a kitchen, leather sofas, matching furniture, a flame-effect fire, and a 50 inch/127cm Smart TV with surround sound. A DVD library is available. The verandah has seating.

While Birchbrae Highland Lodges provides fully equipped kitchens for self-catering, several restaurants are a short drive away. Restaurants offer steak, seafood, and Michelin-starred meals. Cosy Knits tea shop is near Ariundle. The Fish Market Restaurant in Mallaig, Old Library Restaurant in Arisaig, Ee-usk in Oban North Pier, The Bothy in Fort Augustus, The Puffer on Easdale Island, Girvans in Inverness (by Eastgate Centre), Cluanie Inn on the road to Skye, and Castle Stalker View in Portnacroish (Appin) are also options.

Guests can explore the forest grounds and take a walk to Loch Linnhe. Other walks include Glencoe Lochan and Inchree Waterfalls. Woodlands Glencoe offers golfing on the 9-hole Dragon's Tooth Golf Course, segways, mountain bikes, archery, and teambuilding. Guests can also visit Nevis Range, which features twelve lifts and terrain for beginners and experts. There are 9 or 18-hole courses. Boat trips are available to Canna, Knoydart, and Loch Shiel. Seafari RIB rides depart from Easdale. Guests can visit beaches such as Camusdarrach, Calgary Bay, Kentra, Laig Bay, and Sanna Bay. Other attractions include the Glencoe chairlift and the mountain of Aonach Mor.

Birchbrae is 8 miles south of Fort William. It is accessible via a forest track off the A82. The Corran Ferry, 500 meters away, crosses Loch Linnhe to the Ardnamurchan peninsula. The location offers access to walking areas. Guests can take boat trips from Arisaig and Mallaig to islands including Canna and Skye. The 3 ferries are the Corran Ferry, the Lochaline to Fishnish Ferry, and the Fionnphort to Iona Ferry. Skye is accessible via the Skye Bridge.
